Dear Friends in Christ,

A Christmas Update from Michael House Pregnancy Care Centre

See "A Christmas Update from Michael House Pregnancy Care Centre" here. Below are some highlights.

Kelly's Journey

Just over a year ago, Kelly* was lost when her caregiver, her beloved grandmother, passed away at a young age. Kelly was pregnant, unsure of her future and considering abortion. After a cousin told her about Michael House, Kelly applied and moved in one week later. It was here that Kelly found the support she needed. She found hope.

Take the Gifts with Vision challenge!

Moderator Jordan Cantwell has a new challenge for this year’s Gifts with Visioncampaign. She’s hoping everyone connected with The United Church of Canada will give a Gift with Vision.

Michael House Pregnancy Care Centre Prayer Bulletin – November 2016

We Praise God for:

  • the special gift to our clients of the “Princess Ball” by Elora Rd Christian Fellowship;
  • three new board members;
  • the beautiful Fall weather raising spirits and making life easier;
  • the dedication of our staff and volunteers;
  • our faithful supporters and prayer partners, especially our monthly “angels”; and
  • the hard work of staff and a past resident speaking on behalf of the United Way campaign.

Bread Donations for Chalmers

Hello Church Partners,

It's looking like we're getting a little low on bread donations of late here at Chalmers. I'm wondering, if you're putting out a little note to your congregants or putting a note on social media or you're making an announcement at church on Sunday, if you wouldn't mind just mentioning that we'd be happy to take donations of bread here over the next little bit.

People can give me a call if they wish to ask questions or arrange a donation drop-off: (519) 822-8778.

Thanking you,

Baking Workshop

Cheryl McLean will be hosting a baking workshop in preparation for the bazaar. The baking will take place at 17 Victoria Street, Morriston, on Friday, November 11, 2016. Feel free to stop by anytime between 8am to 8pm. You do not require to have any baking skills to attend as there are many jobs that need to be completed, like wrapping and labelling.

It is a great opportunity to socialize, have fun, and ensure our bake tables are well stocked for the bazaar!

Michael House Pregnancy Care Centre Prayer Bulletin – October 2016

We Praise God for:

  • the opportunity to share the Michael House story using a great video during the United Way campaign;
  • new staff and board members and a profitable board retreat;
  • cooler weather making everyone more comfortable;
  • the Diaspora church group that offers spiritual help to residents in supportive housing;
  • our faithful supporters and prayer partners, especially our monthly “angels”;
  • the Beyond Borders students who raised funds and decorated and furnished two supportive housing units.

Please share this information broadly, and help tell the story of the United Church’s work with Mission & Service partners on the ground:

Chalmers Community Services -- Christmas Gift Bag Campaign is underway

Chalmers Community Services -- Christmas Gift Bag Campaign is underway.

We hope you will consider supporting this valuable program.  Each year we hear that CCSC guests are grateful they are to receive this gift and that, for many, it is the ONLY gift they receive. For this reason we ask that you include new, good quality items in their original packages. Please note that there is no need for the items to be gift wrapped. Christmas Gift Bags can be delivered in new, reusable shopping bags.
