Help shape the United Church’s future

The 42nd General Council made major decisions to transform the structure of The United Church of Canada.  These decisions do not take effect unless the broader church approves through the “remit” process.  The eight remits, with background information about them, are now available at GC42.ca/remits. We need to hear from pastoral charges on five of these proposals, and from presbyteries on all eight.

Note from Nora: Responding to the Tragedy in La Loche, SK

Like most Canadians, I’m still reeling over the shooting deaths of four young people in the small northern Saskatchewan community of La Loche.

As a mother, the mother of a teenage boy, my heart goes out to the mothers and grandmothers and families of those killed and injured, and of the teenage gunman who has been charged. None of their lives will ever be the same again. The memory of Friday, January 22 will never go away for the people of La Loche.
