Aberfoyle Public School Students Entertain at the Senior’s Luncheon

Aberfoyle Public School Students Entertain at the Senior’s Luncheon

Mount Carmel Zion United Church began a seniors reach out program around 20 years ago. The program started as a potluck luncheon. A few years in the volunteers decided to include entertainment for the seniors to enjoy, such as guest speakers, singers and musicians. The event became so popular the church’s capacity wasn’t large enough, so they moved to The Puslinch Community Centre.

Thank you from Chalmers Community Services Centre

Update on Chalmers Move Downtown

After a few weeks of uncertainty, plans are now beginning to come together for our move out of 40 Baker Street. The decision was made this past week that our best option is to relocate to Three Willows/Chalmers West and we are deeply grateful to the church for welcoming us at short notice and with such generosity of spirit.

Moderator Offers Statements on Fighting Racism and Working for Reconciliation

To mark the International Day for the Elimination of Racism (March 21), Moderator Jordan Cantwell offered a message on the church's commitment to fight racism. "If we give in to fears based on religious or racial grounds, we will be providing fertile ground for hate and extremism to flourish," the Moderator wrote. "The antidote to this type of fear is love."

Moderator's Lenten Message

This Lent, Moderator Jordan Cantwell reflects on healing our relationships with our neighbours. "For Jesus these two are inseparable: love of God and love of neighbour. They’re part of each other," the Moderator says in her message. "So during this Lenten season I encourage each of you to think about what is one step that you can take today to bring some healing to a relationship in your life that is broken."
