Harvest & Holly Lunch & Bazaar

Harvest & Holly Lunch & Bazaar – Saturday, November 8th 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Community Centre in Aberfoyle with lots of free parking.  Meet a friend for lunch.  Stock up on baking, preserves, deli, plants, knitting & crafts for yourself or early Christmas presents.  Gramma’s Attic will return with interesting gently used items.  Event sponsored by Mount Carmel-Zion United Church. Mark your calendar for the 6th Annual Breakfast with Santa – Saturday, November 22nd - 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Puslinch Community Centre hosted by Mount Carmel Zion United Church and Car-Store Automotive. Moderator Writes to Prime Minister about Israel and Gaza

Toronto: In a letter to Prime Minister Stephen Harper, the Moderator of The United Church of Canada, the Right Rev. Gary Paterson, has called on the Prime Minister “to do all that you can to convince the governments of both Israel and Gaza to stop the violence.”

South Sudan Facing a Growing Humanitarian Crisis

Toronto: The United Church of Canada is sounding an alarm about the growing humanitarian crisis in South Sudan. With international attention focused on other conflicts, such as those in Syria, Ukraine, and Nigeria, the church is particularly concerned that deteriorating conditions in South Sudan are being inadequately reported in the media and relief needs are seriously underfunded.

South Sudan Emergency Appeal Launched

Alarmed at the growing humanitarian crisis in South Sudan, the United Church is issuing a church-wide appeal. Donations will aid displaced persons with food, water, shelter and medicine. Mission & Service partners are already on the ground in refugee camps serving those in need.
