Comprehensive Review Task Group Releases Report

After two years of intensive study and consultation, the Comprehensive Review Task Group is recommending major changes to The United Church of Canada that would revitalize and nurture a range of ministries, simplify governance and administration, and enable the church to live within its resources.

Lenten Study Group

Lenten study group at 7:30 p.m. March 11th we are discussing The Gifts of Imperfection by Brene Brown. In our first session, we learned more about Brene Brown and her work. For our March 11th, read the opening chapters (p. ix to 47) and DIG into Guideposts # 1 and #2. Come and check it out! The book is available through Chapters. Check it out online and let Deborah know if you hope to attend but everyone is welcome, even if you forget to rsvp.

Chalmers Community Service Centre Vacancy

Chalmers Community Services Centre is a not for profit organization that provides emergency food, clothing and support without prejudice to the members of our community.  CCSC has a vacancy for its Program and Volunteer Coordinator (PVC), a staff position effective, 1st April 2015. The PVC will work with the Administrator and Custodian and is accountable to the Board of CCSC through its Personnel Committee.

Lenten study group  begins Wednesday, February 18th at 7:30 p.m. in the back room at church and continues on March 11th.  This year we will discuss The Gifts of Imperfection by Brene Brown.  The book is available through /at Chapters. Seniors' Potluck Luncheon

Seniors’ Potluck luncheon – Wednesday, April 1st at noon (gathering from 11:30 a.m.) – at the Community Centre in Aberfoyle. Event sponsored by Mount Carmel-Zion United Church in Morriston. 2015 Seniors Lunch Dates:  Wednesdays April 1st, June 3rd and October 7th for potlucks and December 2nd for the Christmas Dinner – at Puslinch Community Centre in Aberfoyle, sponsored by Mission & Outreach committee at Mount Carmel-Zion United Church, Morriston.  Mark your calendar and watch for more details.

CCSC has been supported by Zehrs cash register tapes every year, worth over $2800! Loblaws (Zehrs) no longer runs the cash register tape program? You can still support Chalmers while shopping at Zehrs & No Frills?

Chalmers original mandate was to serve guests who were single and lived downtown. We now serve families both at Chalmers Downtown and at Chalmers WEST and our average monthly grocery expenditure is over $5000!

175th Anniversary

2015 will mark the 175th anniversary of Morriston Church, which is origins of our current church community. This year, we will be focused on the anniversary celebration. Please see the attached document for more information.
