Chalmers Community Services Centre United Way Kick Off

By now you may have heard that United Way has something BIG planned to mark our 75th Anniversary Campaign Kick-off this year!

On September 12th, we hope you’re ready for the Slide of Your Life!

Experience a 1000-ft Water Slide down the streets of Guelph!

It’s not every day that you get the chance to slide your way through the City!  So get out your inner tube and come and help support our community at the largest Water Slide ever to hit the streets!  Did we mention it’s 1000-ft?  That’s over 3 football fields!

Seniors' Potluck Luncheon

Ellis Chapel's 154th Anniversary Service

Please join us for our 154th Anniversary Service on Aug 16th at 2:30 pm and led by Bill Shepherd from Duff’s Presbyterian Church.

The Manitoulin Island vocal group, In Accord, is returning to Ellis with special music. Refreshments will be served in the garden following the service.

Special Request from Chalmers Community Services Centre

Our shelves are bare!  Canned meat, canned tomatoes, dry pasta, canned pasta sauce, rice, tea, cold and hot cereal are welcome.

Ellis Chapel Reminder

The second of four Sunday afternoon services takes place at Ellis Pioneer Chapel this coming Sunday, July 19th at 2:30 p.m. Guest speaker is Wayne Scheidel with special vocal and instrumental music by John Hamilton and John Solberg.   Built in 1861 by pioneer settlers, the Ellis Pioneer Chapel holds an amazing sense of history.  It is a nationally registered historic site and a place of worship.  Along with our 4 Sunday afternoon services each summer the Chapel is used often for weddings from May through October.

Chalmers' Item of the Month

Attached is the food items requested for each month through the end of the year. For July, we are asked to provide pasta or brown rice, and peanut butter.

Chalmers Drivers Needed

Chalmers Community Services Centre is seeking volunteer drivers, to help out with shopping. Shopping takes approximately 2-3 hours and would be typically be done once every 4-6 weeks. Position requires the purchasing, weighing and stocking of groceries. For more information, contact Sarah at volunteer@chalmerscentre.ca or (519) 822-8778.
