Harvest & Holly Lunch and Bazaar

Harvest & Holly Lunch and Bazaar – Saturday, November 12th , 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Community Centre in Aberfoyle with lots of free parking.  Meet a friend for lunch. Stock up on baking, preserves, deli, plants, knitting & crafts for yourself or early Christmas presents.  Gramma’s Attic will return with interesting gently used items.  Event sponsored by Mount Carmel-Zion United Church.  See you there!

  • the generous response to the baby bottle campaign;
  • new staff members;
  • the ongoing provision of wonderful fresh vegetables from a team of community garden volunteers;
  • the contributions of our great summer students;
  • dedicated team members within our staff and Board;
  • our faithful supporters and prayer partners, especially our monthly “angels”.,

It’s Time to Vote

Chasing the Spirit began as an initiative of the General Council, and the name came out of the Comprehensive Review report. The name stuck, but immediately there was chatter about changing it.

So we decided to ask you what you thought. What name would you use for a program that is designed to be innovative, Spirit-filled, broad-reaching, renewing, exciting, and so much more?

We received almost 150 name suggestions. And now it’s time to vote for your favourite of the finalists.

Vida Ruth Bain Notice

BAIN, Vida Ruth (nee Seifert) - Died in Guelph General Hospital on Sunday April 10, 2016, at the age of 68. Born in Winnipeg, MB, to the late Herbert Arthur Seifert and the late Ruth Louise (Nilson) Seifert on November 7, 1947, as a child she moved with her family to Sudbury, ON. Following completion of secondary school in Sudbury, she attended McMaster University in Hamilton, ON, from which she graduated with a degree in history.

Chalmers Community Service Centre is Moving!

Chalmers Community Services Centre (CCSC) is very excited to announce that it will be moving to a new permanent home.  This Sunday, April 17 we would like to invite you to a very special Open House at 42 Carden St., the former Acker building.  The Open House will run 1-5 pm and you are welcome to drop by and see the space before construction begins.

Memorial Service Update

A memorial service for Jim Smith (Anita Nichol's brother) will take place on April 23 at 1:00 p.m. at McKersie-Kocher Funeral Home, Milton.

A memorial service for former Morriston resident Vi Bain will be held on Tuesday April 26, at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Carmel-Zion United Church.

Please keep Anita and her family and Colin and his family in your prayers.
