Description: This open forum will explore the global financial and economic crisis and highlight Decent Work and the ILO Jobs Pact as the pillars of labour*s response. Canadian and international speakers will provide their analysis and perspectives on these issues helping participants better understand how we got here and how we can start to move forward.

EVENT: BUILDING SOLIDARITYWITH THE DEMOCRATIC LABOUR MOVEMENT IN MEXICO

Description: This conference will bring together workers from Mexico and from other countries in order to build awareness on the assault on the independent labour movement by the Calderon government in Mexico and to develop an international solidarity campaign for trade unions and federations to respond to the assault on Mexican workers.

*Shout Out for Global Justice* on June 25 will feature an evening of entertainment and high profile global social justice leaders. The event will bring people together from throughout Toronto, across Canada, and around the world to demand climate, water, trade and social justice, as a counterpoint to the closed-door nature of the G8 and G20 Summit.

PeopleFirst! We Deserve Better! WOMEN*S RIGHTS! GOOD JOBS! ROBIN HOOD TAX! END POVERTY! STOP GLOBAL WARMING
The June 26 rally and March will be an opportunity for Canadians to speak out on priorities that industrialized nations should adopt on economic recovery, environment and human rights, decent and green jobs, equality and social protection, as well as universal access for AIDS. Decisions taken by the G8 and G20 governments have a direct impact on millions of lives in Canada and around the world. The rally will have participation from civil society and labour organizations as well as individuals representing a cross-section of communities. With maternal health being one of the key issues of the G8 G20 discussions the march will be lead by women! It will be important to have as many women as possible join the march!
