Dear Friends:
Today, I’m launching a series of three playful challenges to us as congregations in our ongoing, committed involvement in God's healing of Soul, Community and Creation. Three more will appear in each of March and April. These are fun, inspiring and thoughtful offerings from friends throughout our church community. I encourage you to 'take them on' as a community of faith and invite your neighbours to join you. Please post your thoughts and pictures on www.facebook.com/unitedchurchofcanada, Twitter and You Tube.
The United Church of Canadas General Council is a denomination-wide gathering which meets every three years to elect a new Moderator and to approve new church policies.
In addition to 358 delegates called commissioners, approximately 250 guests, observers, youth, children, staff, and volunteers will be present for the week-long gathering. Commissioners are selected by the churchs 13 regional Conferences and represent an equal number of lay people and ministry personnel.
